The School of Education at Drexel University is pleased to announce the launch of a new series on Critical Conversations in Urban Education beginning September 2012.  The series will become a vehicle for discussion within the Drexel and Philadelphia communities and will create a space for critical dialog related to a range of education topics in an urban context for a mixed audience.  This will provide a connection with the academic and broader community (which includes academics, students, families, policy makers, business stakeholders, and community leaders).

The series also will provide professional development that augments understanding of critical factors in preparing urban educators, and that transforms learning outcomes for low income and diverse students. Additionally, the series will provide opportunities to secure resources to support the School of Education’s related Urban Education initiatives.
