On July 3, the American Creativity Association (ACA) announced the election of Dr. Fredricka Reisman, professor and founder of Drexel University’s School of Education, as its president elect. Dr. Reisman has served as Assistant Provost for Assessment and Evaluation at Drexel University and as evaluator for several NSF funded grants in the Drexel College of Engineering and Goodwin's Engineering Technology program. She is currently director of the Drexel/Torrance Center for Creativity and Innovation.

Dr. Reisman has an impressive record of external funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and foundation support from such organizations as the Wallace Funds and the Anna E. Casey Foundation to assist pre-and in-service teachers in developing their mathematics and technology skills both in regular and charter public schools. She is currently the principle investigator of her third USDE funded Transition to Teaching program and serves as co-principle investigator on several College of Engineering funded projects. Dr. Reisman is also the author of several books on pedagogy and has recently written chapters on applying creativity for Biomedical Research (2010) and the Handbook on Talent Management (forthcoming). She co-authored a trilogy of books with world-renowned creativity scholar and researcher E. Paul Torrance on teaching mathematics creatively.

In 2002, Dr. Reisman was awarded the American Creativity Association’s Champion of Creativity Award, and was subsequently appointed to the ACA board of directors and currently serves as ACA treasurer. She will assume the presidency at ACA’s 2011 conference.
