Goodwin’s American Sign Language 1 and II courses begin in January. The courses begin with basic communication methods and progress through more advanced skills.
American Sign Language 1 serves as a foundation for students to learn basic knowledge for communicating with sign language. Students interact with the instructor to learn language, grammar, comprehension, and become familiar with Deaf Culture. Finger spelling, numbers, questions, and beginning sentence structures are covered in this course.
The course begins Monday, Jan. 23, 2012. It is offered Mondays, 6:30-8:30 p.m., through March 26. Online registration is now open.
American Sign Language II allows students to build upon the concepts and skills learned in American Sign Language I. Commands, directions, locations, and lengths of time will be covered, as well as portions of the Signing Naturally Series.
