Hospitality Management Program Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Cirque du Soleil-Themed Events

Philadelphia, PA (April 27, 2011)--In culmination with Drexel University’s Alumni Weekend, Goodwin College’s Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts and Food Science program celebrates its .

On Saturday, May 7, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., the Academic Bistro (101 N. 33rd St., 6th floor) comes alive with Cirque du Soleil-themed events, including:

• Brunch spectacular presented by Catering By Design
• Alumni chef demonstrations featuring signature recipes and techniques
• Mystery Basket Cooking Competition: culinary students provide secret ingredients and faculty, who compete to create the tastiest dish
• "Butterflies, Diamonds and Dreams Deferred:" Gwiazda Professorship Award Winner John Mosley speaks about "The Butterfly Effect," or how initial conditions significantly affect end results in various life and educational scenarios
• Meet and greet with Goodwin College’s Dean Bill Lynch, and faculty and staff representing Goodwin’s degree programs
• Raffle baskets: enter to win baskets filled with fun Drexel items

A Quarter-Century of Unparalleled Hospitality Education
Drexel’s Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts and Food Science was introduced in 1986 with one undergraduate program, the B.S. in Hospitality Management. Today, there are three undergraduate, two graduate, two certificate, and three accelerated B.S./M.B.A. programs. All degrees have a business orientation, teaching students leadership and management skills within the context of their chosen field.
