America's classrooms need trained math and science teachers to educate the leaders of tomorrow. To respond to this, Drexel University's School of Education is offering a new teacher certification program at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology for individuals who have earned their undergraduate degree and want to teach at the middle or high school levels.
The Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification is designed for individuals looking to meet requirements leading to eligibility for PA Instructional I Certification. Courses are offered at HU's Academic Center in the heart of downtown Harrisburg.
Students choose from five areas of study, including mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, and general science. Upon completion of the certification, students have the option of applying credits to Drexel's Master of Science in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum, a graduate program offered online or on Drexel's Philadelphia campus.
There will be an information session on Monday, July 20, 2011 from 4:30-6pm at Harrisburg University, Academic Building- Room 1252.
