Gene Klotz, founder of the Math Forum @ Drexel, was honored with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Service to Mathematics Education. Twenty years ago, Klotz wrote the grant that launched the Geometry Forum, which later became the Math Forum @ Drexel. Prior to that, he helped to develop the Geometer’s Sketchpad, an online resource that provides tools and digital workbooks to practitioners, students, and educators. Klotz has been instrumental in the development of the Math Forum as a University and community resource and research center.
