(PHILADELPHIA—Jan. 23, 2012)—Philly Cooks 2012, sponsored by Philadelphia magazine, comes to Drexel University on Feb. 22. The 33rd Street Armory (3205 Lancaster Ave.) on campus will be transformed into a competition venue as chefs challenge one another for Dish of the Year, Best Appetizer, Best Entrée, and Best Dessert. Guests will enjoy an unparalleled tasting experience, sampling dishes from various cuisines, prepared by Philadelphia’s most accomplished chefs.
Students in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, and Food Science have the opportunity to volunteer at the event. This invaluable resume-building experience will allow students to gain experience producing a large-scale event with Philadelphia magazine’s marketing department, and network with renowned professional chefs. Information on volunteering is available on Goodwin Live., the College’s new blog.
The event is open to the public, and tickets are $75. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.
