(PHILADELPHIA—Dec. 5, 2011)— Culinary Arts student Michael Ratini will represent Goodwin’s Hospitality Management/Culinary Arts/Food Science program at the San Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef Competition Mid-Atlantic regional championships. Ratini submitted a signature recipe and is currently testing and tweaking it in preparation for the competition, which takes place at the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College on Feb. 9, 2012.

If he advances, Ratini will head to the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, Calif. on March 9, where he’ll have the opportunity to craft creative fare and test his culinary prowess against aspiring chefs from North America’s leading culinary institutions.

2012 marks the 10-year anniversary of the Almost Famous Chef Competition. Last year, student Emma Louth won the Fan Favorite award for her updated surf-and-turf recipe that featured bison and fried smoked oysters.
