Established in 2011, the Sport Management Student Union (SMTSU) is the undergraduate student organization operating under the Sport Management Program at Drexel University.
Mission: The Sport Management Student Union strives to complement the coursework of students through a four-pronged approach: sport industry education, networking, and professional and personal development.
Initiatives: While active in various on-campus events, SMTSU also continuously plans and executes impactful initiatives of their own conception in support of their mission.
The organization runs and operates its own blog, The Sports Complex, which allows members the opportunity to express their thoughts on the industry and provides outsiders insight into the SMTSU and Drexel Sport Management.
The SMTSU established and facilitates the Sports Industry Ambassadors Program, which involves select officers and members going into local Philadelphia schools to educate students about working in sports as a potential career choice.
SMTSU has also maintains strong relationships with parallel sports industry student organizations in the city of Philadelphia in an effort to provide the best possible experience for sport management students city wide.
