(PHILADELPHIA—Sept. 5, 2012)—Drexel University’s School of Education is pleased to announce another option for students to earn valuable skills and credentials: Professional Development Certificates.

Many educators choose to embark on a lifelong education, earning additional credentials throughout their career. This program is designed for individuals who wish to pursue additional knowledge in one or more specific areas of interest. Professional Development Certificates are a unique way for teachers and administrators to deepen and strengthen their knowledge base.

The certificates are offered entirely online and may be taken in any order. Currently, certificate offerings include Creativity & Innovation, Educational Policy, Evaluation & Assessment, Leadership in Educational Settings, Learning Technologies, and Urban Education.

The curriculum is flexible. Each certificate can be taken as a standalone, or combined in any way the student chooses. Each certificate consists of three courses, for a total of nine credits. One advantage to this program is affordability; students only pay for nine credits at a time. Students can now take five of the 6 certificates toward a Master’s in Education Improvement & Transformation.
