What is Goodwin?

We are often asked “What is the Goodwin College of Professional Studies?”

Goodwin is not easily defined, but then, what college is? Like others, we are a sum of our parts, an amalgam of people, programs, courses, events and interests that come together with a common purpose.

GOODWIN IS… dedicated to comprehensive quality assurance in academics. Our faculty continually assesses courses, student achievements, and program outcomes using leading-edge technology and university-wide learning priorities, and standards are integrated into all levels of study. Professional and regional accreditation attest to the value of a Goodwin College education.

GOODWIN IS… committed to upholding Drexel University’s tradition of providing the highest quality of education to all its students, traditional and non-traditional, in a variety of emerging, industry-related and globally-relevant areas of study.

GOODWIN IS… 5,000 students, 69 full-time faculty, 1,044 adjunct faculty, 98 staff and administrators, 7 full-time undergraduate degree programs, 6 degree-completion programs, 7 undergraduate minors, 17 graduate programs, 2 doctoral programs, 31 certificates and certifications…and an average of 550 happy graduates every year.

GOODWIN IS… about lifespan learning. Eleven prominent areas of study—teacher education, educational administration and leadership, human resource development, engineering technology, construction management, hospitality management, culinary arts and sciences, sport management, project management, computing and security technology, property management, professional studies—touch the lives of toddlers through seniors, business people and stay-at-home parents in all walks of life pursuing personal and professional goals through education.

GOODWIN IS… and lives…the true legacy of A.J. Drexel, making it possible for working adults to access education for the betterment of their lives and that of their families. The heart of our mission reflects the very heart of our founder: a responsive commitment to accessible and innovative education that is the cornerstone to individual career paths.
